Monrovia's Heavy Petting Zoo

Xavier is checking out all of the farm animals from afar.
The duck didn't even phase him!

Our First Mother's Day

Great Grandpa Bob and Xavier people watching.
Great Grandma Licha holding Xavier as Grandma Susie watches from the background.
Grandma's turn to take shots!
Working on saying words.

We went to Alfonso's grandparents' home for an early Mother's Day gathering.  Xavier was up and ready to go; he gets excited when we go out and meet with people. It was a lot of fun being there and getting to go to my parents' house and see my grandmother during the Mother's Day weekend.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!

Xavier had sweet dreams of Grandpa B taking him back to this place when he can have a classic chili dog!
Chronis Hot Dog Stand... Great Grandpa Clare, Grandpa Ken, and Mommy Kay all stopped off here for a snack when working at the shop.
Alfonso approves.  Impressive!

After stopping by the shop for a bit, we decided to go to Chronis Hot Dog Stand.  This is one of the "Go To" places for us for - literally - generations.  They have a great all beef hot dog with chili, mustard and onions.  Simple elegance East LA style!  Wash it down with a Royal Crown cola...  Funny; I remember it tasting slightly of stoddard formula and oil.  Still just as good as the ol' days!

Those Were The Days...

Peace out, Big Al!

These last few weeks included mad scanning of photos and other keepsakes in tidying up the file cabinet.  This little gem was penned by our friend when I was in college speech class delivering my first eulogy for who else but Alfonso!  It was so believable, my classmates gave their condolences after the speech.  I didn't expect them to believe me; it was just an assignment!  I didn't have the heart to divulge the fact that he was very much alive.  As the class let out, Alfonso was standing in the hall waiting to go to lunch.  Luckily no one recognized him!

March 8th will mark his 33rd year!

For the Faint of Heart...

Xavier is here!

Here are the stats:
Xavier Edward Guerrero
born at Arcadia Methodist Hospital
Arcadia, California
January 29, 2009 at 0527 hrs
weighing 8 lbs 4.9 oz measuring 21.5 inches

For those who are faint of heart, Alfonso reenacted Xavier's grand entrance into the world (pay no attention to Karen's post baby bump!).  Captain Lawson graciously doubles as Xavier's stuntman, since Xavier was busy sleeping at the time.

Pushing Phase - He's coming!

Post Ring of Fire Phase: Did you catch him/What's his APGAR, doc?!

Reflective Phase: Is he crying because it is cold
or because he just found out who his parents are?!

Spoiler Alert:  For the real deal, check out
